Support

Our Support Domain ensures we are proactive and that students and staff have safe and effective support when they need it.

Our Commitments

Support 1

We will raise awareness of the accessible support available by ensuring students and staff have information about our mental health policy, Wellbeing App, self-help tools, and our Suicide Safer University Strategy.

Support 2

We will proactively support specific student groups who may be more vulnerable to study-related stress and mental health issues providing staff training, emotional and practical support, and a clear system for prevention, intervention, and postvention.

Support 3

We will proactively support specific student groups who may be more vulnerable to study-related stress and mental health issues using data and engagement insight to shape interventions.

Support 4

We will deliver tailored mental health and well-being support to postgraduate research students including access to specific resources and face-to-face sessions that reflect their unique challenges.

Support 5

We will develop appropriate targeted support for students with mental health challenges to help build career confidence, develop skills and navigate any barriers to progression, based on what works.

Support 6

We will strengthen links with NHS, third sector partners and other services to improve how students and staff access joined-up care and support wherever they live across the UK.

Continuous monitoring, evaluation, and adaptation of support services are encouraged to foster a culture where mental health is taken seriously, and everyone feels empowered to seek help.
