Honorary Degrees

The University awards honorary degrees to people who have made a significant and particular contribution to society.   Nominations are encouraged from staff and students.

Nominations are scrutinised by the Honorary Degrees Committee, which then recommends a final list to the Senate for approval.

Emeritus Professors

The University awards the Professor Emeritus title to specifically acknowledge the academic contribution made to the University by a former professor of the University.

The Chairs Committee is responsible for considering and recommending to the Senate the award of the title of Emeritus Professor.
